ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management
Environmental management system covering emissions, water reuse, and formaldehyde off-gassing — auditable to ISO 14001:2015.
ISO 14001:2015 is the international standard for environmental management systems. FENIER's EMS covers four operational areas: air emissions (VOCs from coatings and welding fumes), water reuse (production water is recirculated through a closed-loop system with monthly discharge testing), waste segregation (hazardous vs non-hazardous, with downstream licensed disposal), and formaldehyde off-gassing (which is also independently tested under CARB Phase 2).
The standard is increasingly required by EU procurement. Any project funded by an EU public-sector buyer, an EIB-financed development, or a corporate buyer with science-based targets typically requires ISO 14001 from cabinet suppliers as a baseline. Without ISO 14001, the cabinet supplier is usually eliminated at the pre-qualification stage regardless of price.
For ESG reporting, ISO 14001 provides a third-party-verified baseline that simplifies the buyer's own Scope 3 disclosure. The buyer reports supplier emissions as "managed under ISO 14001 equivalent" without needing to model each supplier's footprint. For FENIER this is one of the most cost-effective certifications to maintain relative to the number of doors it opens with EU and MENA buyers.
